Celebrating Black History...
The Little Ilford School Community celebrated Black History during an evening of cultural diversity in October 2009. The event, hosted by ex Gladiator and Dance Coach Weininger Irwin included dancing, singing, drama, poetry, African drumming and a variety of delicious traditional food. This popular event, now in its 3rd year, promotes the school’s positive ethos of celebrating black history and recognises the need for all to appreciate and support each other's talents & abilities.

BOSS Day - Looking for a first .....
...job or attending an interview can be daunting tasks, especially when young people are unsure what is expected of them. It was all part of BOSS (Building Opportunities and Skills Seminar) Day organised by Newham Education Business Partnership (NEBP). Volunteers from a range of companies including construction firms, colleges, The NHS and a management consultancy attended. Students participated in various workshops with the business volunteers on the importance of first impressions, CVs, job searches, applications & interviews.

Medea
Little Ilford School Drama department presented Medea as its annual production, in Novemer 2009. The play featured a cast of 25 pupils and the diversity of the talented cast made it a serious and memorable drama. The in house production was based on the Greek tragedy by Euripides and is a creative collaboration by Little Ilford School drama teachers and pupils. The play was also accompanied by the school band. The audience was treated to a play that covers real life issues like love, power and revenge. Head of Drama Kate Chadwick said ‘We are extremely proud of our pupils and their achievements.’
